Chimei Museum (奇美博物館) - Spectral Codex
奇美博物館

Taiwan’s largest private museum and one of the world’s largest non-public Western art collections, established by Chi Mei Industrial founder Hsu Wen-lung (許文龍). The original gallery opened in 1992 on the upper floors of the Chi Mei headquarters in Rende, but a new campus inside Tainan Metropolitan Park was donated to the city in 2012 and opened to visitors in January 2015. The holdings include the world’s largest violin collection, one of the most complete arms and armour collections in Asia, and over 13,000 paintings and sculptures spanning Renaissance to post-Impressionist work.

I am a web application developer, photojournalist, urban explorer, and history enthusiast passionate about the open web and documenting my experiences on this planet. This project was founded in the early 2010s and has evolved into a sort of personal Wikipedia of places that interest me (and often the photographs I’ve taken there). I’m originally from Toronto, Canada, but spend most of my time residing in Taiwan.
