An army dependents’ village on the boundary between Qiaotou and Nanzi, occupying the dormitory complex of Xinzhuang Communications Unit (新庄通信隊), a Japanese wartime signals station. Kaohsiung Fortress Command and other army units took the quarters over after 1945 and rebuilt them in reinforced concrete in 1987, leaving air raid shelters and a pumping station from the earlier period.
