Two clusters of cylindrical concrete silos, each capped with a machine room and joined at the top by an enclosed conveyor bridge, stand on the grounds of the farmers’ association in Puzi, Chiayi, where they are known locally as the Puzi Twin Towers (朴子雙塔). They belonged to the association’s feed mill, which produced livestock feed under the Tainung (台農牌) brand and appears in a newsreel filmed around 1977, when the association also opened a computerized livestock auction market. The mill closed in December 1994 but the silos remain standing over the lot where the town’s night market is held, and are comparable in form to the much larger Dounan Railway Granary.
