A district shrine (鄉社) established in Nantou City in March 1943 and known as Nantō-jinja in Japanese. It was demolished in the post-war period and replaced by Nantou Junior High School (南投初級中學). This was later upgraded to Nantou Senior High School (國立南投高中). A komainu can still be found on school grounds, although permission is required to view it. Some of the landscaping of the original shrine can still be discerned as well.
