A theater in Mailiao, Yunlin, established in 1958 by Xuwu Xiuying (許吳秀鶯). Historians describe it as a one-storey Minnan-style building with a projection room protruding an extra half level. It seated approximately 300 on plain wooden benches. A price war with the nearby Jincheng Theater (金城戲院) drove both out of business around 1970. In 1976 the founder leased the theater to Xu Yizhong (許義忠), a former apprentice who had worked there since the age of eight; he reopened it and, by agreement with the revived Jincheng, both cinemas set identical prices and rotated films so that neither could bid up the popular releases. Typhoon Wayne (韋恩颱風) badly damaged the building in 1986, and with business already failing, Xu Yizhong closed it for good. The theater was demolished, clearing space for a seafood restaurant (海鮮餐廳) which has now been abandoned for quite some time.
