An old courtyard house near Jian’an Temple (紀安宮) in Xiecuoliao (謝厝寮), a Madou settlement whose Han Chinese inhabitants are predominantly of the Xie (謝) lineage. Built during the Japanese colonial era and identifiable on maps by 1928, the compound features a stonewashed gatehouse in an understated neo-Baroque style, its gable inset with the character Xie (謝). The interior preserves fine timber carving, painted tilework, and decorative brick of a kind common in the Shōwa period. A fire in early 2019 damaged the main hall and an adjoining wing; the house remains privately owned and unprotected.
