Madou Theater (麻豆戲院)

A second-run theater on the third floor of a building in central Madou, established sometime around the 1970s. It is the last surviving cinema north of the Zengwen River (曾文溪) in Tainan. Owner Qi Jinlong (錡金龍) briefly closed in late 2010 due to declining attendance but reopened after an outpouring of community support, reinvesting in renovations. After briefly closing during the pandemic it reopened again. Still operating as of 2026.
