Chen Yonghua was one of Koxinga’s more famous generals. After passing in 1680 he was buried along with his wife in Liuying, but Qing officials excavated his grave and moved his remains to Fujian Province. The original tombstone was lost for centuries but rediscovered in the Japanese colonial era and preserved. Finally, around the year 2000, his original grave site was restored to its present condition.
