The oldest and very first railway tunnel in Taiwan. It was completed as Shiqiuling Tunnel (獅球嶺隧道) in 1890, and only renamed in recent years to honor Liu Mingchuan (劉銘傳), the Qing administrator who oversaw its construction. While the whole tunnel is not open to the public you can still walk inside a fair distance, and if you look up you’ll notice a section with a large drop, the result of a miscalculation by the engineers when digging both ends of the tunnel. It is located in Anle, Keelung.
