Former site of a hōanden (奉安殿) at Hualien Port Public School (花蓮港公學校), one of the oldest schools in Hualien County. Founded in 1897 as the Taitung Japanese Language School Qilai Branch (臺東國語傳習所奇萊分教場), the school was renamed Hualien Port Public School in 1905 and educated both Amis and Han Taiwanese students, boasting the highest enrollment in Hualien Prefecture. The campus is now Mingli Elementary School (明禮國小). No known trace of the hōanden remains.
