Erected in 1928, this stone stele commemorates the 30th anniversary of the founding of Emei Elementary School. It is located on a hillside to the east of the school campus and can be accessed from the left side of Dangui Temple (丹桂宮). There is also a stone flagpole base near the monument; apparently students would have lined up to salute the Japanese flag, effectively aligning themselves in the direction of Japan itself, on special occasions in the colonial era. The site was lost and forgotten for decades, and even now is only occasionally maintained by volunteers. Some discussion of listing it as a cultural property exists, but nothing seems conclusive.
