A Buddhist temple in Dongshan dedicated to a Guanyin idol known as Mother Zheng’er (正二媽), originally brought from Quanzhou and enshrined at Huoshan Biyun Temple (火山碧雲寺). After the outbreak of the Zhang Bing Rebellion (張丙事件) of 1832 Biyun Temple was destroyed and the idol was moved down here to the newly established Bixuan Temple. Each lunar new year the statue is ceremonially escorted back up the mountain to the rebuilt Biyun Temple along a traditional pilgrimage route and returned on the tenth day of the first month.
