An abandoned hovercraft rests in the riverside wetlands of Guandu (關渡), a few hundred meters south of Guandu Temple in northern Taipei. The hull was built by Hovermarine Transport, a British firm that produced sidewall hovercraft for passenger service from its works in Southampton, and is plausibly model number HM218 and likely dates to the late 1970s. How this particular craft reached Taiwan, and what work it did here, is undocumented. It appears to have been deliberately beached rather than wrecked, and has occupied the same spot since around late 2012.
