A sugar factory established in 1911 that changed hands several times before closing in 1943 due to material shortages brought on by World War 2. In the post-war era there was talk of bringing the factory back online but it never happened. The tall chimney remained in place until at least the 1990s but the land was eventually redeveloped for residential use, leaving no trace of Zhunan’s sugar industry heritage.
