A 4-meter stone monument completed in 1933 to honor Wu Tianyou (吳天祐, 1839–1911), a Hakka scholar-physician from Guangdong who settled in Zhudong and built his fortune through traditional Chinese medicine. When the Japanese colonial government acquired Wu family land for Zhudong Public School (竹東公學校) in 1925, his son Wu Jintang negotiated the right to erect this memorial to his father. The inscription was written by Taiwan Governor-General’s Chief Secretary Hiratsuka Hiroyoshi (平塚廣義) and the stonework, sourced from Touqian River, required 26 men to transport. Registered as a historic building in 2018.
