A cluster of black-tiled Western-style residences built in 1953 to house American personnel and officials of the Sino-American Joint Commission on Rural Reconstruction (農復會) during the period of direct US-ROC cooperation. With wide lawns and low suburban-style buildings, it is a rare patch of green amid the dense city. Some units are still occupied as dormitories while others sit idle; the site was listed as a historic building in 2015 and is not open to the public. Another villa nearby also earned heritage status as the Songjiang Road USAID Dormitory.
