A cultural park preserving remnants of the Hongmaogang, a fishing village with over 400 years of history with a name harkening back to the Dutch colonial presence. In 1968 the government designated the area for a container port, imposing building restrictions that froze development in place. The resulting relocation of some 1,750 households took 40 years to complete, finishing in 2007 when all structures were demolished. The park opened in 2012, preserving around a dozen building fragments alongside exhibitions documenting the village’s history.
