Sugar Industry in Taiwan

Sugar Industry in Taiwan

Sugarcane cultivation in Taiwan has an almost 400 year history. Sugar was one of the nation’s most important exports throughout its colonial history until the 1970s or so. Dozens of disused and abandoned sugar factories can be found all over the main island. Much more history is available on Wikipedia in Chinese.
