Originally operating in 1937 as the Sun Moon Lake No. 2 Generating Station (日月潭第二發電所), or simply the Shuilikeng Power Plant (水里坑發電所). It was later modernized and now operates as the Jugong Branch of the Mingtan Power Plant (明潭發電廠鉅工分廠).
