Rare example of a wooden theater fairly deep into the mountainous interior of Taiwan, in the village of Shang’an (上安村). Established in 1954 and apparently closed or perhaps destroyed by a typhoon in the 1970s. The location is inexact but it was right against the mountains on a stone platform. Was used as a plum processing facility depending on the season. Also known as Shang’an Theater (上安戲院).
