Originally established in the 1910s as the residence of the director of Kotobuki Sugar Factory, it was later transferred to the Hualien Dating Cooperative Farm (花蓮大同合作農場). Chiang Kai-shek reputedly stayed here, although the details aren’t clear. Today it is still managed by the veterans’ association as a guesthouse. Closed in 2024 after suffering damage in the 403 Hualien Earthquake.
