The first hydroelectric plant on the Dajia River system, completed during the Japanese colonial era in 1922. Originally known as Sheliaojiao Power Plant (社寮角發電所), it was renamed to its current official designation (大甲溪發電廠社寮機組) in 2001. Still operational as a run-of-river plant drawing water from the Dianhuo Canal (電火圳), with equipment last modernized in 1994. It is not ordinarily open to the public.
