Ludao

Ludao (綠島), also known as Green Island, is a small volcanic island located 33 kilometers off Taiwan’s eastern coast in the Pacific Ocean. The island features one of only three known seawater hot springs in the world, Zhaori Hot Springs (朝日溫泉), and holds historical significance as a former prison site during Taiwan’s martial law period (1949–1987). Today, the island’s rich marine biodiversity and coral reefs support a small permanent population primarily engaged in fishing and tourism-related activities.
