Jinfeng

Jīnfēng (金峰) is a mountain township in southern Taitung, home predominantly to the Eastern Paiwan (東排灣) Indigenous people, whose ancestors crossed the Central Mountain Range from present-day Pingtung in the 17th century. The township was originally named Jinshan (金山) when separated from Taimali in 1946 but was renamed Jinfeng in 1958 to avoid confusion with Jinshan in New Taipei.
