Established by Guangzheng Coal Corporation (光正煤業) in Qidu, Keelung, in 1951, this kiln transformed locally mined coal into coke for steelmaking and other uses. It closed in 1975 and after a long period of abandonment has been neatly cleaned up and transformed into a small tourist attraction preserving the mining history of the area.
