A three-storey guesthouse on the Renshan Peninsula of Chengcing Lake (澄清湖), completed in 1962 after four years of construction funded by the Bank of Taiwan. Chiang Kai-shek began staying here in 1963 in place of the Sizihwan Guesthouse (西子灣行館), and from 1967 onward it was his standard accommodation when visiting Kaohsiung for the annual Military Academy graduation at Fengshan. The compound includes a 200-meter underground command bunker now repurposed as a marine biology exhibit. Across the lake, a three-storey bell tower was built in 1969 at CKS’s request as he missed the sound of bells from Hanshan Temple (寒山寺) in his home province of Jiangsu. The tower was designed by Xiu Zelan (修澤蘭), architect of the famous Yangmingshan Chung-Shan Building (陽明山中山樓).
