Established as a second-class post office in 1924 to provide a critical communications link with the Penghu Archipelago. It was recognized for its heritage value in 2002 and lightly restored in 2018. It now operates as Penghu Underwater Cultural Assets Exhibition (澎湖水下考古工作站).
