Originally erected in October 1929 at Magong Caoxiwei Slaughterhouse (馬公草蓆尾屠宰場), this monument was rebuilt in 1960 after decades of weathering. When the Penghu County Meat Market (澎湖縣肉品市場) opened in 1977, the stele was relocated there in 1983 for easier access during pudu ceremonies. Also known as Xiwen Animal Spirit Monument (西文獸魂碑).
