Established in 1953, this theater was a major competitor in the local cinema industry. As with most others it struggled to draw crowds into the 1980s. The theater was seized by the authorities and forced to shut down after the screening of restricted films. For several years it was rented to other businesses before it was finally demolished in 1998.
