A Qing dynasty era stele originally raised in 1785 by local gentry to honor Lü Yue (呂岳), the deputy magistrate (縣丞) of Aligang. The monument fell into disrepair and was reputedly buried after the office relocated south to Ahou (阿猴), now known as Pingtung City, and it only resurfaced in 1850. At that point the monument was erected again, this time with an additional inscription on the reverse describing its rediscovery. More recently the base of the monument has accumulated the lintels from the former north and south gates of the old walled city of Aligang (里港城). This curious smörgåsbord of historical relics now stands in Aligang Park (阿里港公園).
