Originally established in 1913 by Yilan Shintaku Corporation (宜蘭振拓株式會社) the Karenkō Winery (花蓮港工場). Taken over by the Governor-General’s Monopoly Bureau in 1922 and severely damaged in US air raids in 1944. Operations continued in the post-war era until 1988 when production relocated to the Meilun Industrial Park. Designated a historic building in 2002, the old winery now operates as Hualien Cultural and Creative Industries Park (花蓮文化創意產業園區).
