A coal mine in the hills above Tianliao (田寮) in Hengshan, first claimed in 1920 during the Japanese colonial era and later run by Zhudong politician Su Tingqing (蘇廷清) until its closure in 1986. A pushcart line once carried coal downhill to a transfer point at Tianyang Street (田洋街) and Xinzhuang Street (新庄街); the portals and surface facilities have since vanished, and one former portal site is now occupied by a private house.
