Completed in 1934, this was originally Hemei Police Station (和美線警察官吏派出所), but it has served numerous other functions over the years, including the residence of the town mayor. In the post-war period it was converted back into a police station and later served as dormitories for police officers. The building was recognized for its heritage value in 2008 and restored in 2018. There is also an air raid shelter on site.
