Built between 1927 and 1939 to replace the original Taipei Confucian Temple (臺北府文廟), which had been demolished during a wave of urban renewal in the early Japanese colonial era. The temple features traditional Quanzhou-style architecture and remains an important center for Confucian education and formal ceremonies.
