A small office owned by Shanhua Sugar Factory (善化糖廠) and used for the management of sugarcane cultivation in the area. Sugarcane farmers would conduct sales here, and raw material would be loaded and transported to the factory by train. There was a sugar railway stop (糖鐵菜寮車站) in front of the old office many decades ago. It was demolished around 2011 but is still visible on Google Street View in history mode.
