Established in 1950, this was originally a performance venue and cinema for members of the ROC navy stationed here. In the 1960s access controls were lifted and civilians were welcome to attend as well. Known for screening mainly Chinese films in its heyday. It was declared a historic building in the early 2010s, renovated, and now operates as Zhongshan Theater (中山堂劇場), affiliated with the National Center For Traditional Arts.
