Established as early as 1914 on the Masisan Branch Line (馬西桑支線) of the Batongguan Traversing Trail (八通關越道路). It was abandoned for a period of time in the aftermath of the Dahun Incident (大分事件), a major Bunun Indigenous uprising in 1915. After the rebellion was suppressed the garrison post was reestablished in 1923. It was eventually abandoned and left to the elements for many decades. Nowadays the former station house is extremely dilapidated but still standing, one of the most prominent ruins in the mountainous interior of this remote part of Hualien.
