A compact but renowned night market in south-central Taipei, wrapped around the Nanjichang Public Housing estates whose residents are its core clientele. Established in 1986, it takes its name, “south airfield”, from the airstrip that operated here before Songshan Airport was built. Despite the name it trades all day, packed with food stalls that have earned outsized acclaim, including a CNN write-up for its meatballs and Michelin recognition for its shaobing (燒餅), stinky tofu, runbing (潤餅), and sesame oil chicken.
