Established as the first public school in Xizhi in 1896. It consisted of six classrooms. By 1920 the needs of the school had outgrown the building and it was relocated to a new site that has since been demolished. This building was repurposed for use as a grain warehouse until it was ultimately abandoned. Only the fact that it is hidden in a small alleyway seems to have spared it from being demolished.
