Originally established as Yishiman Theater (伊士曼戲院) in the 1950s. It was equipped with an air raid shelter due to the many members of the military patronizing it in the early years. It was later renamed Guobin Theater, perhaps in the 1980s when it was managed by Huang Bingxi (黃炳熙) and operated as a second-run theater. Unusual for an ailing second-run theater, Guobin began to specialize in children’s entertainment in the 2000s, but it was not enough to survive changing times. It closed down around 2009, with a brief reopening in 2012 that faltered. As of 2024 the front of the building still displays some movie advertising in the arcade.
