The ancestral hall of the Zhangliao (張廖) family, a Zhao’an Hakka family that migrated to the Xiluo area of Yunlin beginning in 1701. The original site, named Jishu Hall (繼述堂), was built in the village of Xianan (下湳) in 1848 but destroyed by a typhoon in 1891. The present structure was rebuilt on a new site in 1926 and completed in 1928, at which point it was renamed Chongyuan Hall (崇遠堂). It was restored with government funding between 2013 and 2016 and is regarded as one of the most important Zhao’an Hakka ancestral hall in Taiwan.
