Xikou Prince Kitashirakawa Monument (三疊溪舍營所北白川宮御遺蹟) - Spectral Codex
三疊溪舍營所北白川宮御遺蹟

Erected the late 1930s near a site where the crown prince of Japan once camped during the initial invasion of Taiwan in 1895, this monument was dismantled sometime after the war, leaving only the base and surrounding stonework. In 2015 the nearby temple installed an art installation in the form of a “wishing tree” made from oysters (喜願樹), but the steel substructure had to be properly mounted in the base, causing some damage.
