Wenshan Park (文山公園) - Spectral Codex
文山公園

The newly renovated Wenshan Park (文山公園) in Muzha is home to two Japanese colonial era monuments. Muzha Loyal Spirit Monument (木柵忠魂碑) was originally erected to commemorate policemen killed in an incident or uprising in 1895. After the war the inscription was mostly destroyed. Muzha Slaughterhouse Animal Spirit Monument (木柵屠宰場畜魂碑) was erected in 1937 to honor the souls of livestock who perished at the old Muzha Slaughterhouse (木柵屠宰場). It was originally located along Zhinan Road Section 1 Lane 14 (指南路一段14), somewhat south of its current location, and the former concrete base could still be seen next to an old house in the 2010s.
