A navy dependents’ village in Nuannuan established in 1960 with donations from the Film and Drama Guild (影劇公會), housing families from several naval facilities in the Keelung area. In 1963 the National Women’s League (婦聯會) funded an additional 100 units, initially called Meiling Village (美齡莊) after Soong Meiling (宋美齡); the two sections were later merged. By 1990 the deteriorating village was redeveloped into Yingju New Town (影劇新城), a five-storey reinforced concrete complex that also absorbed residents from neighbouring Haiguang No. 1 Village (海光一村).
