Established in the late Japanese colonial era as the two-story wooden Tamio-za (民雄座). It could accommodate 500 or 600 people. The location was on Shengping Road (昇平路) facing south. While it was initially more of a venue for traditional opera and performance, in later decades it mainly screened films. Closed around 1985 as business was poor, and demolished shortly thereafter. A red brick wall hidden in an alleyway outside a restaurant (小燈步道) might be part of the original structure.
