A Hakka courtyard residence in the Longdu area of Meinong, built from 1912 to 1913 by the brothers Chung Fu-lang (鍾富郎) and Chung Yueh-ching (鍾月清). The heritage designation of 2010 also covers the family’s own Tudigong (土地公) shrine, a tomb-style altar of stacked river cobbles, and a tobacco barn dating to the mid-1950s, a remnant of the family’s involvement in the tobacco industry that partly collapsed in an earthquake in March 2010. American anthropologist Myron Cohen based the fieldwork for House United, House Divided here, and in 1998 the disused barn became the studio where Hakka musician Lin Sheng-xiang (林生祥) recorded two albums associated with the Meinong anti-dam movement.
