Originally established as a private theater for employees of the forestry department (蘭陽林區管理處). Later opened to the general public. May have also been known as Dongcheng Theater (東城戲院) at some point, as there was a theater with that name at the same address. It is unclear whether the existing commercial building at this location is the original theater building. It allegedly had the same owner as Luodong Theater (羅東戲院).
