Built in 1902 by Huang Xunren (黃遜人) of the local Huang family, this is a rare two-storey residential-commercial courtyard compound formerly used as a warehouse for exporting sugar and rice to China and Japan. Prior to the harbor silting up ships would sail all the way to the compound’s doorstep. Despite interest in preserving the site it has fallen into disrepair.
