Formally established in 1919 as Hainan Flour Mill Co. Ltd. (海南製粉株式會社) in Anle, Keelung, this was initially one of the most important mills in Taiwan. After the war it was absorbed into state-owned enterprises, and its importance increased as USAID included huge shipments of wheat. Much of the factory burned down in 1966 due to a fire, and by the early 2000s the site was derelict and soon completely demolished.
