Established in 1937 as the second-generation Byōkō Shrine (第二代貓公祠) and renamed Toyohama-jinja in Japanese (as the town was also renamed at that time). Few traces remain of this old shrine, but some broken stone lantern pieces might be found behind the high school. It may help to know the address of an old house (光豐路54巷11號) near the former site of the shrine.
